I've heard a glass of red wine the night before a race can do you good, just save the rest of the bottle for after. Lynsey said it's due to be hot so enjoy a nice cold pint after too! And stock up on crepes before and after, all in the name of carbo loading and replenishing! See you all soon

Eh sorry race report so late been away since paris..what can i say paris must be the most perfect city to run in from every angle its such a beautiful city!!. everything went well the day before went to expo for our numbers and chips followed by some tasty crepes with banana and chocolate sauce..does it get any better!, carb loaded that evening with the biggest plates of pasta you've ever seen washed down by a couple of glasses of red for myself gillian and lyns passed on the vino but made up for it after the big race!. race started at 8.45 so early breakfast and made our way to the champs elysees, amazing atmosphere at the start the course was fairly flat passing all the main landmarks in paris, volume of people on sometimes narrow roads didn't help along with the temprature which was around 25c. lynsey finished in 4.29 which she was happy with having had a couple of enforced stops, gillian 3.48 which was a great time considering how she has been feeling through most of her training and i was 3.12 which while not being a pb i was fairly pleased with. all in all a fantastic weekend in a beautiful city, fantastic race and a few celebration drinks afterwards.. Perfect

Hey all fellow runners, sorry it's taken me so long to write on the Paris marathon race report but I am still recovering As Bloy said it was a fantastic city to run a marathon, a touch on the hotter side though I have to say I actually enjoyed the day as I just paced myself comfortably and even stopped for a wee glass of vino at the 38k mark Kev and Lynsey did so well and very proud of both. We had a fantastic weekend with lots of laughs, dings and dongs! I'll see you all soon once I have recovered at training,G
