Hi Kevan,
I was looking the webpage and I notice that neither yourself or Connel are on the committee. In fact the only person mentioned regarding Road running is Tom McCulloch. Is this by choice or have you never been approached?
If you have set up a discussion board and you are trying to revive the "Land of burns run" that perhaps you should be in the comittee, expressing your view point. It's all well and fine running a discussion board, but is this information getting back to the people who can make the changes (e.g. The Comitee)?
I wish you all the best, but I think you'll struggle until you can be heard from inside the walls.

hello Colin, showing my age here but I remember RH linking arms with a fellow runner as they crossed the line winners of a half marathon at the ballast bank in Troon. the idea was that you got a sticker every time you did a loop. (13 stickers in total)

Made my stand tonight and requested that i be put on the committee, or however you spell it. Glen said he thought that it would be a great idea and welcomed me with open arms. I was taken aback by his response so much so i forgot to ask him if i have to do anything. I even forgot to ask how much you get paid

of course you will be welcomed with open arms......thats because they will now have a new guy on board who will agree to do any job he gets proposed for(and there will be many proposals)
i'm sure thats how committees work aint it! ;-)

Hi Kevan,
It's good news that you have been welcomed in to the committee. Glen sounds like a good ally and perhaps the pair of you can put the enthusiasm back in to the road running for Ayr Seaforth.

Kevan, It good news that you have got on to the committee. As Hamish has suggested, you can now be heard from inside the walls. However, Hamish, it would be unfair to say that the club lacks enthusiasm.
When I joined, I couldn't have got any more support from committee member Tom McCulloch and the Training that Adam supplies is excellent. However, as I said on the webpage, the club has several runners injured including these two gents and that is one of the reasons we only had half a team on Sunday.
However, from a selfish point of view, having someone like Kevan on the Committee is going to be a great advantage. He has indeed enthusiasm, he was the man responsible for starting this forum and he should be able to push Road running within the club.
The fact that, as Killieboy suggest thats he will get proposed for a lot of jobs because he is the new guy does not affect me whatsoever. Good Luck Kev, you are now the boot boy o' the club.

After further tought , aims both long term and short term are required possible along lines of increasing numbers firstly perhaps including ayr triathlon club inproving training gradually nobody at ayr seaforth puts right volume of training in this includes me , circuits weights , hill sprints, fartlex ,long and short interval work and of course long runs , from experinence obla runs are critical to and once your fit they improve you beyond what you think your capable of
