An exceptional hot day for this time of year brought over 250 runners to the annual fun run held on the grounds of beautiful Culzean Castle grounds. The race which has a mixture of road & trail paths is roughly 5.6 miles long & starts & finishies @ the Visitors Centre.Kerry Wilson(Girvan) took off @ a fast pace followed by Scott Martin(JWK),Roger Naughton(JWK),Connel D(Ayrseaforth) & Bobby Miller(Troon).Kerry opened up a large gap @ the halfway point to lead by 2:45 which he extended to 3:41 by the end of the race to win his 1st Culzean Fun Run on the 25th anniversary of the race in 29:22.Scott followed Kerry in 2nd place in 33:03 then young Roger taking his 2nd 3rd place in 2 years in 33:10.Connel(showing no ill-affects after his London Marathon last week & Endurance session the day before)taking 4th place & Bobby(bring back Crosshill Fun Run) Miller taking 6th place.Elaine Auld (Troon) also ran the race after her marathon @ Lochaber last week to.Their times & positions will be added soon.

Well done to all that took part. Good to see south ayrshire doing well and Killie too.
Another convincing victory for our very own race report writer, keep up the good work. CD gets revenge for seaforth over the lesser tanned tortoise. Scott might end up getting a sore neck having to look out for these young whipper snappers that killie are bringing through. All bodes well for a competitive race at troon.

Glad to see mr drummond wearing his vest with pride unlike you other club runners that shy away from expectation that goes with donning your clubs colours CD- what is hurting, you look like you are in a bit of pain?

Excuse me Mr JogAyrshire but the Culzean run isn't a specified SAL race so there is no need to wear club colours. It is actually against SAL rules to wear club colours to an event like this.rule 16,part4c section 4.. Those who did turn up had a joyful time as us club runners always do.It may be different for the joggers of our comunities so next year give it a go(if your sabatical is ended by that time). As for CD the burden of wearing the Ayr vest was to much for him.Thats why he looks in pain.

Oh Dear!!! That picture would scare Hitler . I can't remember if I was in pain or just saying to myself "Oh no, not Another Hill!!!". For the first time running it, I quite enjoyed it. I also liked Sunbed Athletes review. However maybe he should learn to run like Kerry rather than constantly hero worshipping him. I think if Kerry wasn't already partnered off, then Sunbed would be in their like a shot. Whereas Boabee's only got eyes for crosshill CD

"naughty" has a scientific approach-the name on vest means a fraction more weight to carry round the course-hence a nano second per mile slower! nice to read SBA's review and it was obvious he was treating it as a fun run-he didn't have his gloves on
