Unfortunately the club has only been given one place and a reserve for the london marathon next year, which is a bit of a bummer for myself and Connell who would both like to have done it.
I have a contingency plan of running the lochaber marathon instead. Have any of you vastly experienced runners out there done it before? Is it a good race? Will i set a pb? (my first marathon so i cant fail really) i would appreciate any thoughts on this event.
Cheers,
Kevan.

I've not done it but if you're interested in it you need to get your entry in smartish! I'm told it fills up quickly once the London marathon rejections come through.

Lochaber is an out and back course ( good for seeing how far the leaders are in front at the turn ). Pretty flat, hasn't been too windy each time ( twice ) I've attempted it, though I imagine it could be tough in a gale. PB possible especially if this is your first marathon. There is usually a marathon in Dumfries in March, gives you more recovery time for a busy track season!

if you go to the runnersworld web site and scroll down to the events section there is a thread on this one.
some of the entrants shout there number out on this, and the latest one i,ve seen is 175 entrants so far.
not 100% sure but I think the limit is 400

Thanks bobby.
I have applied for it anyway so we will see what happens. The idea of a there and back course isnt too appealing but i am sure after 26 miles i wont really be caring where i am.

Laurence, just reviewing your last post. What exactly do you mean by a busy track season? Do you know something i dont?

I'd heard that you had volunteered for 3000 s/c, 5000m, 1500m and hammer for the mens league next year, or maybe it was just a dream.

No. 197 so there is plenty of spaces left for anybody who wants to join me. Quick before all the London rejects (me) get them.
